Stories and Journeys

journey-dave-luke-2013Today we begin.

Thank you for joining us!

My story is worth being told, my journeys are worth being noted. Your story is worth being told, your journeys are worth being noted. Story as journeys. There cannot be one without the other. Story is the whole. Journeys are the pieces, the groupings, the time frames, the chapters; good and bad, the ecstatic and gut wrenching moments. They are all of the boring or exciting ribbons of day-to-day that tie it all together.

We have entered a new portion of our journey recently (you can see who ‘we’ are HERE). In the last 7 months we have begun to care for ourselves more by becoming mindful of how we eat, exercise and think. What began as some thoughts like, “We should do something about…”, has now become our lifestyle. It’s important to note, however, that we are still discovering, trying, getting frustrated, laughing at ourselves and starting over on a regular basis. In no way are we trying to come across as anything other than a normal couple who has stumbled onto something that is very meaningful to us and, therefore, worth sharing.

It is our intent to begin a conversation here, where we share some deep thoughts, interviews, links, recipes, exercise tips, and a lot of what we’ve stolen, er, gleaned, from a myriad of other sources and interactions.

You can join us.

You get to choose your level of interest or interaction. Read the posts, maybe even leave a comment. If something moves you, let us know.

Our content won’t be political, denominational, or adversarial (though a good rant on occasion is cleansing!). We will express ourselves with vulnerability. Please do the same.

Today we begin another journey in our story: this blog.

Usually when I visit a new website or blog, there is so much to see and so many pages with rich content to explore! Not here. This is a from-scratch endeavor, bare bones for now. Each post will be new ground covered, and additional content added. Hang in there with us, and let’s see what can happen. We will post on a regular basis, and our hope is to grow our content into a valuable resource for anyone willing to join us as we learn to live well.

Happy trails! I’m looking forward to being part of the journey. I may be 58, but I bike, play tennis, swim, walk and love the beach. I recently tried pickleball and it was so fun….but the name is goofy!
